I love LOVE Christmas time. Gathered with family to share quality time together. Joyous. 🙂
Today was really busy. My husband and I both had to work. When we got home, we all took a much needed nap! We woke up and went to Brett’s Grandpa’s house for dinner and fun!
Brett’s Grandma passed away in 2006. This is the first Christmas since her passing that Grandpa has had a tree put up in his home. Thanks to Brett’s family for encouraging him to put it up.
After dinner, we took some of Grandma’s favorite ornaments and put them in a large bowl. We all took turns telling our favorite Christmas memories. After we told our story, we each grabbed an ornament and put it on the tree. Boy did we have some good laughs! What a fun group! This was followed by Grandpa reading the scriptures of Christ’s birth. We got our Christmas Jammies on and headed home.
Santa has came, everyone is asleep and I’m not to far behind. 🙂
Oh man, I can see why people gain weight during the holidays! There is SO much JUNK food all over the place! Jillian Michaels would not be proud of my eating this weekend. (And the scale showed this morning) I gained 2 lbs this week. I have to work extra hard to make up for it! It’s ok to eat sweets in moderation. But we have to remember to work out extra hard to make up for our calorie intake. If you just eat crap, you will gain weight. Exercise while you eat crap, you might have a balance. Want to loose weight? Don’t eat crap. Simple really, but temptation is hard to overcome. My goal is to avoid all the holiday junk this week.
To make up physically, I’m going to do a weeks worth of my fitness challenge all at once. I will still continue as normal tomorrow.
135 sit ups
135 Push ups
3 min 30 second plank
45 knee highs
45 mountain climber
45 jumping jacks
Once I put it all together, that does not look like fun. But I gained weight this week. Bag that.
JUST FREAKIN’ DO IT!! No excuses to gain weight this holiday season. Work it off. Don’t eat crap.
We made it to church today! Boy am I glad! 🙂 I really loved the Christmas program in sacrament meeting! The spirit of Christmas was so so strong! 🙂 I love moments when you can really feel the TRUE MEANING of Christmas. I want to take my family out and do some thing good for society. I’m grateful for this time of year. Every one is so willing to help and you can feel the love. I wish this spirit lasted all year long. Christmas is in 3 days. Are you ready? When I ask if you are ready, I do not mean materialistically. I mean spiritually. Are you going to truly embrace and remember the meaning behind this SPECIAL day we celebrate once a year?
I’m cheap. I know it, my husband knows it, all my friends know it. I hate paying for things we don’t need. If we don’t NEED it to survive or stay clean, it’s an extra expense that I don’t think … Continue reading →
It’s not that it’s hard, it’s just not what I want to be doing. It’s sometimes more stressful than what it is worth. But I’m very grateful for my job. It helps us get so much further with our financial goals. I want to be home so bad. This little life is my motivation. She is my “Why”.
I do this so one day I can be home with her.
My husband made me feel much better when he told me that I will be home with her within the year of 2014. To know that it is that close made me realize that I should be grateful for my time in the workplace and get as much out of it as possible. So until I can be home, I will choose to enjoy my job. Because I’m sure that once I get home, I will say “Man, there are sometimes I really miss being at work”.
So even though I’d rather be doing something else, I choose to be content with where my life is right now.
I’ve got some new plans to increase production so I can be a “work at home mom” THIS year :). Here’s a sneak peak.
I want to thank you all for your love and support. I appreciate the fact that you took time out of your day to read this.
Week after week I keep saying “I’m going to lose weight. I’m going to do it this week! Just wait for those numbers.” BULL. I just can’t seem to find the encouragement to get into a fitness habit. Well, as I told you last week, I was inspired to start a fitness challenge by my mom’s friend when we went to the salon. It was just squats at first, but then I felt that I wasn’t getting enough in. So I took a few different challenges and combined them into one. These are the four fitness challenges that inspired me. (Disclaimer: I found them all on Pinterest and NONE of them had a link to source. So I copied the link of the pinned image and plugged it in. I did not “Save image as” and download these files)
So I took all of those and added it into one! Boy am I sore!
Here’s a lint to the calendar that I made for my self feel free to download and print it if you’d like.
I didn’t make it too fancy. I wanted to spend less time at the computer and more time moving! 🙂 So far I have been following it pretty well! I can feel my butt lifting, my arms tightening and my waist slimming. Can’t argue with that!
If you decide you want to do the challenge that I made for my self, let me know how it goes! I forgot to take before pictures, but I will do that tonight.
I’ve had to work the past few Sundays and my husband was sick this morning. Its been a few weeks since we’ve been to church – and boy can I tell! I owe my sweet husband an apology. I have been picking fights lately for NO reason. I don’t know what my deal is but I sincerely appreciate his patience and willingness to put me in my place.
When we go to church we experience several benefits.
1. Our relationship is much stronger. We work together as s team and we set goals together.
2. We are both less snappy. We have more patience with each other and we are much more willing to help each other without arguing.
3. Our lives run smoother. We follow a schedule much better. We make sure our family gets good bonding time. We have dinner at the table as a family and clean up together as a family. We help each other get ready for the next morning and our house stays clean.
4. There is more love in our home. This goes hand in hand with all of the above.
Its only Sunday evening and I’m already excited for next Sunday.
We will do everything we can to make it to church next week. My husband’s sanity kind of depends on my weekly spiritual reboot.
